Science Rules!
Star Trek in the EP
Science Rules! EU40 welcomes Star Trek to the European Parliament on October 18th at 16:00-18:00 in JAN 4Q2!
EU40 is excited to be hosting Star Trek Actors, for an interactive discussion on Star Trek, Positive Role Models and inspiring young people about science and technology. The two “fictive” heroes will be joined by real astronauts of ESA, the European Space Agency!
EU Chief Scientific Advisor Professor Anne Glover and former International Space Station Commander and current Head of the ESA Astronaut Centre Frank de Winne, Dutch Astronaut who is the longest European in Orbit and just came down from the International Space Station André Kuipers and Danish Astronaut from the 2009 class Andreas Mogensen will also be joining us along with over 100 students from across Europe.
MEP Katarina Nevedalova will be moderating the discussion with an opening address from Vice-President of the European Parliament Alexander Alvaro.
Europe desperately needs more young scientists and Star Trek has provided that inspiration for generations of innovators and dreamers. We hope you will be able to join us for this event and to celebrate the legacy of Star Trek.
